Associate Minister
SHCC Associate Minister
Overview: The intent of this position is to lead and encourage various staff members, current volunteers, and additional members in fulfilling the mission of SHCC. The focus areas are "local outreach" relative to families, "Teens", and "Young Adults". This will be accomplished by seeking volunteers, team building, and delegating plans utilizing the service structure currently in place. This minister will administratively report to the Senior Minister for routine guidance, and to the Elders for vision, goals, and execution.
Education/Experience: 4 years of Bible College, and 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
Key Objectives:
- Youth Ministry (7th-12th grades) - Recruit, train, lead, and encourage sponsors to execute an effective youth program. Delegate and participate in SS class, CORE (youth group), mission trips, fundraising, youth rallies, CIY, etc.
- Children's Ministry (nursery - 6th grade) - Train, lead, and encourage the "Children's Ministry Leader".
- Youth Advisory Team - Recruit, train, lead, and encourage a group of parents and volunteers representing youth of all ages. The purpose of the team is to coordinate a continuous youth program which creates a Christian walk from nursery through high school.
- Gasconade Christian Service Camp - Be an active trustee and participate at camp during the summer.
- Teach - Be actively involved in selected teaching opportunities (small groups, SS, etc.)
- Visitations - In coordination with the Senior Minister, call on prospects and existing members in their homes, and those who are sick and shut in.
- Local Outreach - Working within the current service structure, identify ministries and potential volunteers within the congregation waiting to be led in service. Encourage the congregation to support the needed tools and opportunities to reach out to the unchurched.
- Sunday Service - Participate, contribute and share in the visibility with the Senior Minister during Sunday Worship (devotion, announcements, invitation, Scripture reading, praise team, preach as requested, etc).
- General Leadership relative to Organization/Communication - Improve, maintain, and distribute service manuals. Participate and contribute to the staff meeting agendas. Encourage, direct, and support all ministry leaders with advice, timely decisions, participate, and communication. Prepare annual budgets where appropriate and monitor.

- Ability to balance administrative tasks with projects and people time.
